We have arrived to the last blog post in which our team expresses their thoughts about the project. The team consists of 4 members who have produced content for Show Me The Reality over the past few weeks. The personal evaluations of each team member can be found in the following part.

Robi:

The challenge of the project lay in content creation. I have not yet had the opportunity to take part in a project in which I had to work continuously for months. I had to plan, rethink every content I want to publish in advance. Working ahead didn’t end up being a huge problem, but the sole fact that we touched on news and public topics was a big burden. Because we constantly emphasized the negative impact of fake news, we had to be really careful not to accidentally disclose any false or inaccurate information, otherwise we would have become hypocrites. Secondly, one of the particular pitfalls of communication may be inappropriate wording. After all, it is enough if the content is ambiguous or incomplete and it already has a different meaning. Overall, it was an exciting and interesting experience. As a content writer, I tried to produce several types of content. I could also see what wording was needed to get people’s attention on social media sites.

Nimród:

This project was something I was familiar with, as I have also been working as a social media manager for some time. What was new about it was working in a team. Until this moment I had to deal with content on my own. It was much easier to move forward with everyone doing their part and me having to focus on my assignments. I was already aware of a lot of things: managing profiles, creating professional pages, creating quality visuals, formats, sizes, schedules, and more. Blogging was challenging, as I have not been involved with any blogs or even blogging before. As a designer, I also work on creating user interfaces and user experience. The key aspects to these projects were easy accessibility, quick usability and up-to-dateness, hence the Wix system. The challenge was to integrate the image elements, it had to be adapted accordingly. All of these had to be optimized for both mobile and desktop versions. Another difficult part of the project was community building. No matter how specific our target audience was and how much we tried to share our content with them, there is no guarantee that they will like it. We have tried to approach it from different sides. Working on different topics, overlapping posts with the different interfaces had been some of our methods. Creating a community was hard, despite fake news being a popular topic. Although it is a high-profile topic among people who read the news or specifically search for rumours on a daily basis. Our approach was to provide entertainment on a social media network at the level of an intellectual. We passed on the information, but we came to a dead-end, the reaction fell short. Overall, it was a great project, challenging. It provided a hands-on opportunity that involved teamwork, time management, meeting, and the use of various tools provided by the Internet.

Orsi:

As a content creator, I was given an exciting task during the project. I had to be able to create diverse but relevant content from week to week. Fake news is an everyday problem that we often turn a blind eye to, but sometimes big scandals come out of it. That is why a content producer who writes about the fake news itself must pay attention to ensure that the information, data, facts that he uses in his content are real and relevant. The biggest challenge for me was to include exciting topics in the posts, which would get the attention of as many readers as possible. At this point, however, I had to be careful to push the line of excitement only as long as there is reality and factuality.

Zalán:

I am the last one, as I was during our project. I was tasked with translating and reviewing all content, whether it was textual or visual. I was responsible for getting the content correctly translated on our various platforms. During my translation work, I tried to learn how to convey a person’s feelings and thoughts. Since the content was mostly written in our native language and then translated, it was a huge challenge. Many language-specific wordings had to be eliminated in such a way that the meaning or emotional charge of the sentence did not change. Since I was the last link the content went through, I always had to keep a close eye on deadlines. During the project, I managed to overcome my procrastination problems and complete my tasks on time, because everyone was counting on me. The content was published in English, so there was no content without translation. I learned how important everyone is in a well-organized team. Everyone had their own part. Our work was characterized by organization, so everything went smoothly. Overall, it was a very instructive time, as I ended up in a scenario that I will encounter in the course of my career. It’s better to get used to it earlier than ever.

Finally, we would like to thank you for your attention and hope that our project has sometimes helped you to think about the essence and impact of fake news.

We wish you fake news free reading! Goodbye!
